The WestConnex network uses distance-based tolling which is a fairer and more equitable system in which motorists only pay for the section of motorway they use. Once the new tunnels open a WestConnex cap will also come into effect in Australia’s first ever multi-concession tolling network.
Tolls for using the full length of WestConnex will be capped at a maximum amount of $11.11 ($2023) for passenger vehicles. Heavy vehicles pay higher tolls reflecting the greater wear and tear these vehicles have on motorways.
You can find out more about pricing and how to pay for your tolls in our Tolling on WestConnex Factsheet.
Un-tolled alternative routes are available for all WestConnex motorways. View them here using our trip compare tool.

The WestConnex Plan Your Journey tool allows motorists the chance to take a “virtual drive” on the motorways, to get familiar with where the entry and exit points are and experience some of the features of the motorways.
