WestConnex is proud to partner with industry to support STEAM learning
Engineers Australia and WestConnex deliver ‘Experience It’ – a one-day student conference designed to provide NSW female high school students the opportunity to experience engineering and encourage STEM related subjects in their final years of study. ‘Discover Engineering’ is full day of activities for high school students covering many areas of Engineering, and incorporating the Engineering Design Process.
The NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and WestConnex to deliver annual STEAM Youth Development Camps for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The camps bring together students from different schools and provide opportunities for students to connect while learning about STEAM subjects and their links to Aboriginal culture.
The Engineering Link Group and WestConnex deliver workshops to high school students, demonstrating that STEM subjects are rewarding, fun, relevant and lead to fulfilling careers in engineering and science. There are also hands-on programs for educators to provide ideas for teaching STEM subjects, with real engineers and scientists.
