This engineer mixes and uses chemicals to solve problems and create new products that we can use in everyday life. These chemicals can be used to separate gold from dirt dug up in mines, pesticides for farmers and helping to create medicine to make people feel better.

Civil Engineer

This engineer helps build important infrastructure that keeps cities moving like roads, bridges, ports or other major structures and makes sure they are solid, safe and fit for use.

Electrical Engineer

This engineer makes sure things that use power and electricity work properly and protect people. They work on anything from power stations to tunnels and football stadiums! They create the technology to ensure we can all safely use things that rely on power – at home, school or at work.

Geotechnical Engineer

This engineer looks at how things can be built safely on or under the ground and study the importance of soil and rocks in keeping structures stable. All bridges, buildings and tunnels need to be built safely and last for many decades, if not one hundred years!

Tunnelling Engineer

This engineer designs and builds tunnels that are located underground. They help come up with new ideas for how to build tunnels safely and efficiently so that things like cars and trains can run through them every day. Some even build tunnels under the water like the Sydney Harbour Tunnel!
